Our doings since winter semester ended... Pt 2

The best part of my trip in DC was when Bri showed up after I'd been there a week. My wonderful grandmother paid to have him come visit for the weekend so we could spend time with family in DC. It was awesome!

Bri showed up late Thursday night (like 11:15 pm) and we drove straight from the airport to my grandparents' lakehouse near Fredricksburg, VA. We arrived around 1 am. The next morning we went to Monticello, the home of Thomas Jefferson. It is a beautiful property. We really enjoyed ourselves and our tour.

We came back to the lakehouse and enjoyed a little boat ride around the lake. We ate dinner at the clubhouse and returned to the lakehouse. It was so nice! It was great for Bri to see one of my favorite places from my childhood.

On Saturday, we drove back towards DC and visited Arlington National Cemetery to see my great-grandmother's grave there.

We also went to the air and space museum to see the giant planes there. Bri's favorite was a blackbird bomber. I like everything. :)

We were then able to talk to Matt, via conference call with my parents. It was so wonderful to hear his voice. He sounds great! We enjoyed steak and crab legs with my uncle Russ for dinner that night before he flew to Korea for work. On Sunday we had a Mother's Day brunch with my aunt Kristin, uncle Joe, and cousins Nick and Charis. We then boarded a plane and returned to Utah. It was a wonderful weekend!
