June - Disney, Utah, Camping, etc

We had a busy June.  Our girls are growing like crazy.  Madison is just a few months away from 3 years old and Katelyn is 8 months.  They are so much fun.

Katelyn is a mover.  She won't sit still for more than a few seconds.  She crawls everywhere and pulls up on everything.  I feel like I'm constantly pulling things out of her hands that she shouldn't get, even though I feel like I've hidden them well.  She is a really happy baby.  She's struggled a little with sleeping through the night (she just likes to eat every few hours).  Just this past weekend we had her cry for a couple of nights and now she's sleeping from 8pm-5:30am, then eating and sleeping for another hour or two.  That's a huge improvement over eating 3-4 times each night, so we're excited.

Here she is standing up against some suitcases (and being her normal smiley self).

Katelyn is just starting finger foods and is still trying to figure it out.  She'll eat anything you offer.

Madison is getting very independent.  She has quite the stubborn streak and likes things just right.  She likes to say that things are "slilly," but doesn't understand that adjectives can be applied to her.  If you try to tell her she is silly or smart she responds, "No, I'm Madison."  She is a funny eater.  Sometimes she devours everything and sometimes she will eat nothing.  She loves milk and will always pick the yellow sippy cup if it is a choice.

She loves having waffles and sausage for breakfast.

At the beginning of June, we used our last day of our three-day Disney passes.  This was the first time Katelyn really seemed to notice what was happening.  She seemed to like "It's a Small World."

Tired Katelyn

Madison insisted on taking a picture with each of us "driving" this car.

This is what Madison did each time we passed a shop.  She would say "I NEED it" over and over.

A little later we took a trip to the beach.  It had been a little while since we'd been.  Katelyn really enjoyed it.  She tried to eat the sand the whole time and was surprisingly OK with the water.

Madison loves the beach.  You can see the joy on her face.

Madison enjoyed playing with our friends' boogie board.

In the middle of June we took a trip to Utah.  We spent a few days at my parents' house.  We had a lot of fun.

We went to the fair at Orem Summerfest.  Madison loved all the rides.

She also enjoyed playing around in the fire truck.  She loves "driving."

Madison is a bit of a wild sleeper.  Here she is after sleeping all night.  One of the other nights she ended up under the dresser at the head of her bed.  It's a good thing her bed at home has high sides.

This was the best part about being at my parents' house.  We loved getting to be all together!

After spending a few days at my parents house, we all went to southern Utah to go camping at Zion National Park. We had a lot of fun.

Madison and Katelyn both enjoy making noises like this.  Our house can get pretty squeaky.

Yes, Madison is sleeping like that.
And that
So we tried to get her to sleep like this.

Madison loves going to Grandma and Papa's house.  Here she is playing in the Midget.

And here she is playing with a boogie board and watching TV with her cousins and Uncle Brad.

Here's Katelyn drinking her water by herself.

At the end of June Brian and I were able to go to LA to see the Piano Guys perform at the Pantages Theater.  It was a lot of fun.  We drove into LA early, ate dinner, and played tourist for a few hours.  It happened to be the 5th anniversary of Michael Jackson's death, so his star on the walk of fame was a little decorated.  There were even look-alikes standing around the star.  Weird..
It was fun to walk around and be tourists.  Brian particularly liked the piano staircase in the Dolby Theater mall.   Here's someone else's video.

Here's the theater.

Sorry about the bad quality picture, but here is us during the intermission.

While we were away, the girls had fun tormenting Grandma.  We loved her pictures of the flour mess they managed to make.

Apparently they had fun. :)

Here's a rare picture of the girls and me.  We were cheering on the US soccer team.

Madison really enjoyed the free, noisy, and stinky entertainment we had this week as they repaved part of our parking lot.  She was fascinated.

We sure had fun this month.  Here are two cute pictures from our camping trip to end with.
