May was a crazy fun month at the Wright home.  Here is a fun sampling.

I tried to get the girls to sit nicely for a picture to send out for Mother's Day.  It didn't work so well.

Katelyn has used this month to master the art of crawling.  She started off the month rocking on hands and knees.

Then she started moving forward slowly

Then a few feet at a time

Then crossing the room (for a week her best crawling was always while mad)

Now she crawls everywhere.  She mainly follows Madison around or searches for wayward power cords.  She still uses her left foot more than her left knee.  It makes her look a little lopsided while crawling.

I posted this picture (or one similar to it) to facebook, but I loved it so much we'll do it again here.  Madison called Katelyn a zebra when I put her in this outfit.  When she wore it again a few weeks later, Madison insisted that everyone in the family wear stripes that day. 

Madison loves playing with whatever she can find.  Here she found Mom's boots in the closet and stomped around the apartment wearing them.

Here she is helping Daddy polish his shoes.  Notice she stuck her feet in them.

On Mother's Day after church Brian and I left for a cruise get-away, so we made the most of the morning.

Here's yummy breakfast: crescent roll casserole and french toast roll-ups.

Then Madison and I did our nails.  Madison was surprisingly patient with me painting her fingernails and toenails.

Madison found her lifejacket and put it on herself.  It's hard to use it when the flap is in front of your face. :)

I'm so happy to be the mom of these cute girls!

These are their Easter dresses that we failed to get a picture of on Easter.  Right after this picture Katelyn spit up all down the front of her dress, so we didn't get the chance to take a better one.

Now on to cruise pictures!  We did a 4 day cruise from Long Beach, CA to Catalina Island and Ensenada, Mexico.  It was a fun little getaway to celebrate our upcoming 5th anniversary.

Our first stop was Catalina.  We saw a bunch of seals/sea lions (we can't really tell them apart).  Here is one sunning itself on a buoy.

While on Catalina we took a kayak trip down the coast.  It was fun to see a little more of the mostly uninhabited island.  Here we are posing near frog rock (the big rock in the background that looks nothing like a frog).

We had to get ice cream at Big Olaf's. 

The big building is the Avalon Casino, which doesn't have any gambling.  Apparently casino originally meant gathering place. It's a big ballroom and movie theater.

Our next stop was Ensenada, Mexico.  It really isn't that interesting of a place, so we took a 45 minute bus ride out of the city.

Our ride on the bus took us to La Bufadora.  It's a natural blow-hole.  The tide coming into the rocks pushes the water up into the air.  It looked really cool.

After riding the bus back, we ate some nice authentic tacos.  Brian was happy.

There was a giant flag in the harbor. Our bus tour guide told us it weighed over 100 lbs.  We're not sure we believe him or not.

Our last day was at sea.  Here's Sarah at dinner.

Brian managed to eat cow stomach and chicken feet before our cruise, so he decided to continue it on the trip with alligator fritters, duck pot stickers, braised rabbit, frog legs, and escargot.  Here are the frog legs.

And this is what Sarah ate :)  (OK, I ate all the other stuff too)

We saw a nice sunset out our tiny porthole window, so we decided to go have a nice view of it on deck.  It was a little bit windy.

We had so much fun on our little getaway.  We'll have to do it again in five years!

Their first day in town we went to Disney California Adventure.  We had a blast.

The highlight of the day for Madison was lunch at Ariel's grotto.  She got to meet several princesses.  They came up to our table and talked to her personally.  She was in heaven.

 Madison's favorite princess right now is Belle.  She was so excited to see her.  She loves her dress and hair.

 We also went to the San Diego Zoo Safari Park.  Madison had a lot of fun looking at the animals.

For Memorial Day, we enjoyed a day with Brian's parents.

Part of our Memorial Day celebration was to celebrate Brian's upcoming promotion.  He's getting promoted to Senior Associate a year sooner than people typically do at his firm.  We're so proud of him!
