Sarah's internship placement

I've received my placement for my 210 hour internship next semester. I'll be on the Children's Surgical Unit (CSU) at Primary Children's Medical Center. I'm super excited about it! It was my first choice! :) The only downside is the drive to SLC. Hopefully it doesn't snow too much. If you're interested, here's what IHC's website says about the unit:

"The Children's Surgical Unit is a 37-bed inpatient unit. The CSU gets all kinds of surgical patients: cardiothoracic, general surgery, orthopedics, plastic, ENT, urology, etc. In addition, the unit also gets cardiology patients. The general surgery patients include appendectomy, total or partial bowel resections, mass resections, nissen fundoplication with or without GT placements along with many unexpected injury repairs. ENT and plastic surgeries include cleft lip and palate repair, ear reconstructions, T & A's, trach revisions and skin grafts. The cardiology patients range from premature newborns to adults with congenital heart defects. The unit also has many patients with arrhythmias on telemetry. It is only unit outside of the ICUs that provides telemetry monitoring. The newest population of patients coming to the CSU are home trach-vent patients coming in for respiratory issues or surgical issues."

Also noted on the website is that 60% of Primary's hires are from nursing students who did rotations there. It would be wonderful to get a job there as a new grad!
